A big-box retail store found its back-of-house stockroom overflowing with merchandise, which began to creep onto the sales floor. They asked Stizer for a way to increase their inventory storage without expanding the building or reducing retail space. Our solution was a custom mezzanine tailored to the stockroom’s layout. We installed a steel mezzanine above half of the stockroom area, instantly adding hundreds of square feet for organized storage of inventory. The mezzanine included a safety staircase and railing, and we integrated it with their existing shelving system using safety gates for easy forklift access to palletized goods. The addition dramatically increased inventory capacity, allowing the store to keep the sales floor clean and customer-focused. The entire project was completed in days, and shoppers never even knew construction was happening above the stockroom. The store now enjoys a clutter-free floor and efficient stockroom – a win-win for operations and customer experience.
